Too excited right now! I love my Batman sweater so much! Even though people look at me a bit weirdly while I use it out in public...

Autumn blog header!

It's that time of...season...again! The blog just got a facelift! Summer has been over and done for a long time now over here and the autumn oficially started on the 1st of september, so 'bout taim to change that blog yo!

So, let's put summer behind us...

And enjoy the autumn for a while!

I am enjoying the colder weather and I'm hoping for a bliztering cold and snowy winter. Yes, I'm one of those crazy people that enjoys winter so so much. Being born and raised in Norway does things to you. For all you 'Murican readers (and probably the rest of the world too), Norway doesn't have snow days in school. Nope! As a kid, I rode my bike in -30'C (-22'F) and several meters of snow! GAH! Please! Let it be a crazy snowy winter!

But I digress... It's still only autumn... I decided to sneak out in the early hours of the day to snap some pictures of this pretty yarn in the bright, fresh daylight before anybody else has awoken. We don't have much green outside of our appartment, so to get pretty pictures, I've have to sneak into the garden of our landlords and neighbours...like a creepy person. Our landlords have some huge trees on their property and they've now finally started to drop their pretty coloured leafs, so it's a perfect time to get autumn pictures done. And I must admit, this header is probably my favorite of them all so far!

I love autumn, I love autumn colours and just about everything else! The only thing I can't stand about the autumn is the friggin' spiders that have decided to grow huge over summer and then move INSIDE of our appartment since it's so cold outside. Blasted araknids! GO AWAAAAAY!

Spring makeover on the blog!

It's about dang time I did something about the winter theme on this blog. I love winter, it's my favorite season, but I must admit, the theme I had going on was kinda bland and boring. Even more depressing for me since we haven't had much of a winter here at all this year. The snow dissapeared in early january and we've had spring pretty much since, which is pretty unusual in these parts of the world. But what can you do? Global warming is a son of a b***h...

For a long time now, several months actually, I've been wanting to do a spring theme on my blog here. We haven't had much of green outside until the last few weeks, but then we also had non-stop rain for about a week. I've been thinking about running out and get some pictures inbetween the rain clouds, but as soon as I've been thinking about it, rain started pouring. But today I managed to run out in time and I snapped a few pictures that I could use!

Here's a quick look back on the winter theme:
Simple and easy. Not too much going on that would be distracting for the reader, but a little too bland and boring. I like the color blue, but I get too easily tired of it...so I kinda hated this after a month. The only thing it had going for it was the yarns. I picked out the colors of the rainbow to brighten it as much as possible, and it helped a good bit, but not enough.

Here's a look at spring:

Now I got spring going on. I figured I would go with lighter colors on the yarns on this one, give it a more spring feel, so I picked pastels instead of a rainbow. There's still not too much green going on on the ground, but I picked the place with the most dandelions and went with it. I picked up alot of green in the text and background of the blog too. I was pondering on green text on the banner, but it just felt nauseating... The white pops just enough for it to look good.

What do you as a reader think? I appreciate feedback on the design of my blog and ideas for the upcomming seasons/holidays.

Batman got a DD!

OMG! This makes me so happy, you have no idea! If it wasn't for my horrible headache, I'd be jumping off the walls right now! This really brightens my day! Thank you so much Brooke for giving me this DD!

Batman recieved a DD guys! How awesome is that?

For those of you whom don't know, DD is "daily deviation" on deviantART. And since I'm bad with words today, here's a quote:
"The Daily Deviation is a daily feature chosen from the galleries here on deviantART.

A small assortment of submissions are chosen each day by a select group of staff/volunteer members who wish to showcase an image which they found impressive or otherwise interesting enough to deserve being brought to the attention of the community-at-large.

The staff/volunteer members responsible for selecting submissions for the daily feature often are open to suggestions and individual community members may direct their attention by noting the appropriate Community Volunteer or staff member with a direct link to the deviation which you are suggesting and a brief description about why you think the work in question should be featured."

Ever since I joined dA 8 years ago (check my old "main" account here), I've been wanting to get a DD on my art, but I really wasn't good or talented enough in either of my fields to get one, nor could I present my art is a delicate manner. To top it off, I've never been very good in putting myself out there, so I've more or less just been sulking in the depths of dA where the moderators doesn't look.

I made my second account (really more like fourth or fifth, but they're all deleted) and started submitting my knitting in september of 2012 since it has become such a big part of my life, and I wanted to find more yarnsters. I decided to give up on the hunt for DD's and I would never have thought that knitting could reach that far on a art-site mostly for photography and digital drawings. Allready, I've recieved two DD's so far on this account. Funny enough, both my february contest entries at Knitting-and-crochet (that both won first place mind you) have gotten a DD now, and I think it's becomming my "creativity-success" month or something.

My previous DD was the Jane Austen inspired fingerless mittens and cowl that I made for the Jane Austen contest. I was such a huge surprise for me to get that, I didn't know what to do with myself.

This is so much fun, you have no idea how much this means to me! So happy! If only my headache could clear up so I could look happy too... Weirdo... Yes I am...

Welcome to my new blog!

Hello everyone! Welcome to my new and shiny blog!
...well, it's not that new since it's been up for quite some time by now...but this is the first blogpost!

I'm 24 years old...in two more days, cause january 3rd is my birthday! I live in Norway along with my boyfriend Bård (you international people may call him Bayaard...long story) and my cat Pepsi.
You may know me as KnitLizzy on deviantART...or maybe even LARvonCL

I decided to start this new blog to get just about everthing yarn related away from my other blog...since it's been drowning in that stuff lately and it is really supposed to be a videogame/goldsmith blog...cause that's why I made it and that's how it's designed...up until I lost my job cause of a stupid new owner and I started knitting 24/7 instead...which took over and made be dread posting anything related to other stuff. Well, enough about that. I got this new blog to unfold my knitting instead. And with the day by day progress, I'm hoping to wake my blogging skills up and active again on them both!

I was first thinking about doing knitting vlogs and post them on Youtube, but I'm afraid of hearing my own voice, and with speaking english since it's not my first language, I don't have the best pronounciation and I'm having trouble with verbs and words and what have you. This is easier and I can stay mute!

The reason why this blog is in english? Well, for one: I'm trying to reach out to a wider audience... Two: most of my crafting friends are international. I got this awesome crafting group on deviantART and we chat and have fun while we craft. Most of them are from America, but we also got some from Canada, England and Netherland. These are some of my dearest friends right now, and I'd hate to exclude them from this blog...expecially seeing how dreadfull Google Translate is...

But welcome! I hope you'll stay and enjoy my content! As I've stated, I'm hoping to document every day! ...as long as there's no secret projects going on...or if I don't knit one day... But I'm gonna try! AND there might be some content that's not knitting...and I'm not speaking of crocheting...but seeing as I'm a graduated goldsmith and I like to draw (when inspiration and motivation strike me), those crafts might pop up as well. I also got a sewing machine in the corner so I might do something with that in the future as well

So this is me, I'd be really happy if you'd leave me a comment, please excuse me having the security stuff on, but that's the only way for me to see if I got new comments and actually reply to them. See you all pretty soon!
